Christmas is Coming!
Hallo from your Inverurie Choral Society and welcoming Aberdeenshire Saxophone Orchestra!
On December 9th 2023 at 6:30 we will be performing together, for the very first time, at the Acorn Centre in Inverurie in the concert "Christmas is Coming!"
This year Inverurie Choral Society celebrates its 25th Anniversary under the baton of our Director of Music, Faith Ockwell, who has led us in a great year of singing. The high spot will be our Christmas Concert on Saturday 9th December at the Acorn Centre, Inverurie. This is a much-anticipated collaborative venture with the acclaimed Aberdeenshire Saxophone Orchestra. The plan was hatched during the dark days of the 2020 Covid Lockdown, and at last, three years on, it’s finally happening! The choir will sing some old favourites, and some new Christmas pieces, with the Saxophones performing a guest spot, and accompanying the choir in a couple of festive pieces for a memorable and rousing finale.
ASO will be performing a couple of seasonal pieces:
- Lux Aurumque - Whittaker arr. Fieldhouse
- Selections from the Nutcracker Suite - Tchaikovsky arr. Crockford
