Soteria Duo

Edyta and Sarah met in 2019 at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland while pursuing their Masters Degrees. They formed a piano trio focused on studying the repertoire of Schubert, Beethoven, Brahms, Rachmaninov, and Piazzolla. During the pandemic, they returned to their respective homes but remained in contact throughout the quarantine and lockdown periods.

Once the situation improved, Sarah and Edyta eagerly reunited to continue playing together. In the summer of 2021, they established the Soteria Ensemble, a collective of musicians dedicated to reviving live concerts post-pandemic. They resumed performing as a piano trio, showcasing Beethoven's Archduke Trio, Rachmaninov's Trio Elegiaque, and Brahms' Piano Trio No.1 and Excerpts of Film Music.

Additionally, they began collaborating as a duo and recorded the Soteria Duo album in August 2021, featuring little known works by Vaughan Williams, Sulkahn Tsintsadze, Piazzolla, and Sibelius. Since the album's release, the Soteria Duo has performed together on multiple occasions. In November 2021, they presented Leopold Stokowski's Cello Sonata. In 2022, they performed Sibelius - Malinconia for Cello & Piano in performance and live recording sessions.

Edyta and Sarah have collaborated on various concerts, including performances featuring strings and piano. In July 2022, they performed a series of concerts in Glasgow, featuring piano trio and voice. The repertoire included works by Brahms, Rachmaninov, Rossini, Bizet, and Weill. In October 2022, they presented piano quintets by Florence Price and Amy Beach, as well as the world premiere of Max Welton's PnQnt.ExE in Oban. 2023 and 2024 were busy seasons working with Soteria Piano Trio on various projects and concerts, including Westbourne Concert Series, Bothwell Concert Series, Fringe Festival in Edinburgh and Dundee Concerts.
