Marischal Conductors Orchestra

dir.
Allen Quinn
Ensemble type
Orchestra

We are the Marischal Conductors' Orchestra, a student-run society open to student conductors who wish to gain experience conducting an ensemble. We are also looking for players within and out with the University community to comprise the orchestra.

The Marischal Conductors’ Orchestra provides opportunities for budding conductors to develop and practice their skills in a fun, practical, and supportive environment with an orchestra while also allowing players to play as part of an ensemble and experience different styles of conducting. If you would like to practice or develop your conducting skills with an orchestra and/or play in an orchestral ensemble, then this society is the one for you!

We hold conducting workshops for score preparation and technique as well as our orchestral rehearsals weekly.

Some of the expected repertoire, as well as the quick turn turnaround of music, requires a minimum standard of Grade 7 ABRSM or equivalent on your chosen instrument. However, if you have relevant ensemble or performance experience and are interested in joining, please do email us! Auditions may be requested on a case-by-case basis to ensure players and conductors get the most out of each rehearsal.
