Welcome to AOC Productions (formerly Aberdeen Opera Company), come in and discover what our wonderful society is all about!

We have been performing and entertaining audiences in Aberdeen and the surrounding area since 1940 with a range of Operettas, Concerts and Musicals.

We love what we do and that enthusiasm shines through the entire company including members, production team, committee and technical team. This is reflected in the high standard of performance that we achieve every year and also by the enjoyment that the whole team has during the rehearsals and show week.

The society has been on an incredible journey for over 80 years. From the first production of “The Mikado” in 1940 as Aberdeen Opera Company, to our first non Gilbert and Sullivan show in 1966, our 75th birthday 2015 with the UK Amateur Premiere of “9 to 5”, then to our name change to AOC Productions in 2016, the sell out success of “Sunshine on Leith” and our fantastic rendition of " Chess" the Musical in His Majesty's Theatre in 2017, our first time treading the boards in The Tivoli Theatre in 2018 with the classic musical Oliver! and our most recent production, the Scottish Amateur Premiere of Shrek the Musical in 2019.

Our society is always evolving and that journey is far from over.

Unfortunately due to the global Covid-19 pandemic we had to cancel our 80th Anniversary production of Guys and Dolls but produced our wonderful Peace & Love video during lockdown and managed to fit in our 80th Celebration Ball before lockdown began.​

Getting involved

Membership to the Company is by audition. ​

Potential members will be asked to perform a song of their choice, read a small section of dialogue and demonstrate ability to sing a harmony line against a tune.

​Auditions for our 2021/22 season have already taken place, however if you would like to audition to join the Company in 2022/23, or would like more information about membership, please fill out the form below.

We are also always on the lookout for help with production, backstage and front of house.  If you would like to offer your assistance in any of these areas during our show week please get in touch via our website.
