Scott Hayes
Part of St Andrew's Cathedral at Noon Recital SeriesScott Gregory Hayes is Director of Music at All Saints Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia (USA) and Tonal Director of the Muller Pipe Organ Company in Croton, Ohio. He holds a Master of Music in Organ Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music (2012), where he studied with Todd Wilson, and has also studied at Ohio Wesleyan and Cedarville Universities with Robert Griffith and Phyllis Warner, with additional coaching by Timothy Smith.
At All Saints, he leads a dynamic intergenerational music ministry of more than 50 singers each week. Now in his eleventh year, he has led choir tours to England and Scotland, with performances in several cathedrals throughout Great Britain (including at St. Andrew’s, Aberdeen in 2025). In 2022, he directed the Choir of Men, Girls, & Boys for a festal Evensong at the Anglican Association of Musicians conference in Richmond.
As Tonal Director at Muller Pipe Organ Company, Hayes oversees the tonal design and voicing of the firm’s instruments. Recent projects include the restoration of the famous E.M. Skinner organ at Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo, Ohio, and the redesign and tonal finishing of a substantially new instrument for Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Cleveland, Ohio, He is currently overseeing the renovation of the 1967 Austin organ at All Saints, Richmond.
Hayes is Past Dean of the Richmond Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and has served on the executive committees of both the Richmond and Columbus Chapters. He currently serves as New Organist Scholarship Chair, supporting the development of new organists of all ages through scholarship programs.
