Isla Rippiner is a Scottish flautist based in Banchory, Aberdeenshire. She has been playing for 8 years and is currently learning under Catherine O’Rourke at the North East Music School of Scotland where she has held a scholarship for the last few years. Isla loves playing in musical groups and has enjoyed being part of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and Aberdeen City Youth Orchestras in the past few years. Isla is currently preparing for the Scottish Young Musician finals in Glasgow, having recently won the Aberdeenshire regional round.

Outside of music Isla also enjoys swimming, art and ballet – as well as baking and reading in any free time she can find! Having just completed her final year in secondary school Isla is taking a year out to experience the world before starting her Zoology degree at Glasgow University where she will get to follow her passion for animals, alongside experiencing the lively music scene Glasgow has to offer of course!
