Heidi Talbot
Irish-born, Edinburgh-based singer Heidi Talbot has carved out an extraordinary career that bridges the worlds of folk, contemporary, and roots music. With her gossamer voice and delicate re-working of traditional and contemporary material, Talbot “slips effortlessly between musical worlds while retaining a personal modesty rooted in folk tradition” (The Guardian).
Her recently released ninth studio album, Grace Untold, marks a bold new chapter - her first as producer. A luminous song cycle celebrating feminine strength and myth, the record honours Ireland’s rich heritage of goddesses and heroines alongside deeply personal tributes to the women in her own family. Themes of resilience, love, ancestry, and grace weave through its eleven tracks, uniting the extraordinary and the everyday in women’s stories.
Heidi Talbot’s artistry has been recognised with numerous honours, including nomination for BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year, Best Traditional Song, Best Live Act (Scottish Traditional Music Awards), and Best Female Vocalist (Irish Music Awards). In 2023 she was named Composer of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards. Over the past two decades she has toured extensively across the world and has performed on many of the world’s great stages - from the White House to the Sydney Opera House.
