This recital showcases the versatility of the Bingham Quartet, an ensemble well-known for innovative and approachable programming. Shostakovich 4th Quartet, in D major, op.83 is book ended by one of Schubert’s greatest pieces of chamber music and a little known work by Bloch.

The Bingham String Quartet was formed in 1985, under the tutelage of the Amadeus Quartet. They have performed worldwide with an eclectic repertoire of classical and modern works, and have been particularly involved with commissioning and performing new works from living composers. The Quartet has a varied discography and has worked with renowned soloists such as Raphael Wallfisch and Jack Brymer.
