String Ensemble Day
The first Inverurie Music workshop of season 2025-26 will be a String Ensemble Day with Jesus Rodriguez on Saturday 11 October 2025 at Kemnay Church Centre. There are places for around 20 string players (violin, viola, cello and double bass) who will come together to play for the day with expert tuition from Aaron.
Provisional workshop timetable:
- 09.30 arrival and set up
- 10.00 - 13.00 tutored session (including break) followed by lunch
- 13.45 - 14.45 tutored session followed by a short break
- 15.00 - 15.30 performance session and depart

Jesus Rodriguez is a lower strings instructor at Sistema Scotland at the Big Noise Torry programme and Musical Director of the Inverurie Orchestra.
In Tucupita, Venezuela, Jesus commenced his musical education at the age of twelve, studying cello and music theory at "El Sistema" Venezuela. Subsequently, he joined the "Delta Amacuro Symphony Orchestra," marking the inception of his career in professional orchestras. In 2010, he became a member of the National Children's Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, where he had the privilege of performing alongside renowned conductors Sir Simon Rattle and Gustavo Dudamel. He became director of the "San José de Tucupita" centre in 2012, delivering cello lessons to children and young people and conducting children's orchestras. In that year, he commenced his education at the Latin American Cello Academy under the tutelage of esteemed teachers. He completed his studies in Orchestral Conducting at the National Academic Training Program for Young Conductors of "El Sistema". Following this, he became a Cello Tutti player in the Guårico Symphony Orchestra and commenced teaching Cello at the "Jesüs Maria Torrealba" Center in San Juan de los Morros, Guårico in 2015. Subsequently, he assumed the role of conductor for the Children's Orchestra at the same center, and later for the Youth Orchestra. Subsequently, he was designated as the musical director of the "Guårico Symphony Orchestra," a prominent orchestra in central Venezuela, where he led the performance of advanced repertoire and significant projects. He traveled to Peru to conduct various orchestras before settling in Trujillo City, where he was appointed as the musical director of the "Arpegio Peru" Youth Orchestra.
Jesus has received extensive conducting instruction from notable maestros throughout Venezuela, including David Cubek, Alfredo Rugeles, and Gregory Carreöo.
