Pupils from Big Noise Torry
Part of St Andrew's Cathedral at Noon Recital SeriesThe programme will feature some of our violin and cello students of Big Noise Torry, performing a selection of solo and ensemble music.
Big Noise is a high-quality music education and social change programme that works intensively with children, young people and families within targeted communities. Big Noise uses the symphony orchestra as a community through which children gain an invaluable range of life skills and experiences. They develop confidence, teamwork, resilience, pride and aspiration as well as the capacity to work hard, supporting them to reach their potential, and lead successful and fulfilled lives.
For our older participants, Big Noise Torry runs as an afterschool club four days a week, in addition to 8 weeks per year of holiday club. This concert features the members of our Advanced String Orchestra who have been attending Big Noise summer club for the past two weeks. We’re very excited to share some of the music and skills we’ve been working on recently.
