Jews Harp for Beginners

Michael Wright
Date
-
Venue
Carnegie Room, King's College

Open to anyone interested in learning the basics of melodic jews-harp playing. The workshop will commence with how to make a sound and the importance of harmonics, the ultimate aim being to achieve scales and a simple tune. While a few instruments will be available, attendees are encouraged to bring any of their own that are in the key of D.

If you would like to purchase an instrument for the workshop, Michael recommends doing this through 'Sound for Health'

Note: there is a preconception that the jews-harp is a simple instrument. My approach is to demonstrate that it is as simple and as complex as any other.
