Part of St Andrew's Cathedral at Noon Recital SeriesFaith Ockwell is a Seattle native, living in Aberdeen since 2021. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Pacific Lutheran University, and taught music to all ages in the Pacific Northwest until moving across the pond to pursue her postgraduate studies. In the Fall of 2022 she received a Master’s in Musicology and Composition from the University of Aberdeen. Faith has taught and performed in ensembles and as a soloist throughout Aberdeenshire, and has been Musical Director of the Inverurie Choral Society, the ACO Junior and Initial string orchestras, and the Spectrum Singers in Kemnay. She teaches private violin lessons, is Assistant Choir Director at St. Machar’s Cathedral, and participates in the evensong services here at St. Andrew's Cathedral. Faith is rarely seen without her ferocious and intimidating dog, Teddy.
Since her time in Aberdeen is about to end in mid-February, this performance will be a farewell recital comprised of a mixture of American Hymns and folk songs. To celebrate Burns Night, the program will also include some Scottish favourites. Teddy looks forward to seeing you there.
