Ross Ainslie, Tim Edey and Friends with The Paddy Buchanan Band
Ross Ainslie and Tim Edey are award winning musical geniuses who are old friends as well as being two of the best musicians of their generation.
Tim is a former BBC Musician of the Year and won best duo with Brendan Power. He is The Chieftain's guitarist and accordionist of choice and has a long-standing solo career. Rated to be one of the world's best guitarists and melodeon players in the Celtic folk scene, he has recorded and toured with everyone from Christy Moore to Altan and Natalie MacMaster.
Ross, one of Scotland's finest traditional musicians and composers (pipes, whistles, cittern), is an acclaimed soloist and prolific collaborator with a long list of high-profile awards and nominations going back as far as 2005, including being nominated three times for Music of the Year at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. He won Best Duo with Ali Hutton in 2017 and was nominated for the same award again in 2018. Ross and Tim will be joined by some surprise guests for this evening’s concert - not to be missed!
Hailing from Aberdeen, the Paddy Buchanan Band specialises in the reworking of traditional folk songs. Primarily ballads from the North-East of Scotland, these songs are musical tales of love, loss, triumph and tragedy, not to mention farming! Expect vocal harmonies and stomping tribal grooves.
