Spring Harmony

At the end of May, the two choruses that you hear will be competing in the national Barbershop convention in Harrogate and representing the North East of Scotland. This year marks the 50th Anniversary Convention of Barbershop Competition in the UK and promises to be a very special event.

This year marks a return to competition for Granite City Chorus having last competed in the national convention in 2018. They will perform a selection of their repertoire along with the two competition songs.

AlbaMix chorus was created in the summer of 2023 from members of the Aberdeen Chorus of Sweet Adelines, AlbaCappella and Granite City Chorus with the aim of competing in the national mixed chorus competition at Harrogate. The performance will mark the public debut of the chorus and you will hear the two competition songs performed for the very first time.

We are also delighted to have Aurora Acappella a barbershop octet and pianist Ailsa Durden who last performed with us at the Maggie's Christmas Concert.
