Rossano Sportiello
An evening celebrating the Art of Jazz improvisation through the Great American Songbook
Born in Vigevano in Italy, Rossano began studying piano aged 9. He graduated from Conservatoire in classical piano, but earlier, while still in his teens, he played jazz piano professionally with the Milan Jazz Gang, travelling Europe with them. In 2003 he made his first trip to the US, and has built up a reputation as one of the finest stride and swing pianists on the current jazz scene. After his marriage to writer Lala Moore, he settled in New York. From their flat there he has recorded weekly online concerts since lockdown! This will be his third tour in Scotland, and he will play at eight venues around the country.
