Founded in 1875, the Choral Society is the University’s oldest and largest performing ensemble, specialising in large-scale choral masterworks. Music ranges from unaccompanied motets to full symphony collaborations, featuring well-known classics alongside under-represented masterpieces. Upcoming projects include a Christmas festival mixing ancient and modern favourites; and The Three Hermits, a sacred opera adapted from a story by Leo Tolstoy.
