Fittie Community Hall

Venue type
Hall

The Fittie Community Hall is a former Gospel Hall which was purchased by the Fittie Community Development Trust through a community asset transfer.

Thanks to the hard work of residents and Trustees – old and new – the Hall has undergone a complete transformation. It is now a modern, accessible hall, but still retains much of its charms. It is used for community events and available to hire.

The Hall was built in 1951 on the site of an older hall and closed in 1991. It was subsequently rented as a studio by the artist Joyce Cairns before being bought by the Fittie Community Development Trust.

The Hall is surrounded by a secluded and pretty garden which includes seating and quiet areas. Use of the garden is included with hall hire.

Facilities

The hall has been fitted with underfloor heating powered by an air source heat pump. It is fully insulated. There is a modern fully equipped kitchen area and two toilets – one of which is accessible. The main hall has a number of tables and chairs, but no technical equipment or internet connection. The hall has a PPL PRS Licence and Public Entertainment Licence.

Access Information

The Fittie Community Hall is fully accessible. There is a wheelchair ramp at the front of the building and fully accessible toilet. If you need to park close to the building for access purposes there are some times spaces on New Pier Road, otherwise Porca Quay is close by.
