Banchory Singers
- dir.
- Irene Watt
A mixed voice community choir of all ages and abilities.
Banchory Singers perform regularly at concert events and in the community. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings and we are always looking for new members to join our welcoming group. No audition required.
Banchory Singers are a mixed voice community choir where all ages and abilities are welcomed to sing and celebrate living by singing together and making friends. Our songs range from folk and pop, to traditional and music theatre numbers, contemporary songs and classical and we welcome suggestions from the choir membership for items to put into our concert programmes.
We have two main concerts in December and in May but also sing out in the community throughout the year. We are very sociable and have events during the month to get together informally for a chat over a drink and also have bigger social events during the year.
Getting involved
Banchory Singers always welcome new members to our friendly mixed voice choir and everyone is welcome from novice to expert. No audition required.
Our repertoire ranges from traditional songs from around the world including arrangements of Scots songs, favourite classics from Vivaldi to Karl Jenkins, pop standards from the thirties to present day and music from film, TV and theatre. Irene always welcomes suggestions for songs from the membership.
